Wheelchair Van for Kenzi

Donation protected
Hello,  my name is Ali. I am setting up this account to help a very dear friend of mine.  I have known April Cullett for about 5 years. I fell in love with her,  and her family instantly.  This is really not about April at all though. This is about her 16-year-old daughter Kenzi. Kenzi has Cerebral Palsy, she is non-verbal, requires around the clock special care and is wheelchair bound. Being in a wheelchair has never stopped this spunky kid. She loves going places and has a need for speed. She was devastated to be homebound; after their miracle van was stolen from their home, last week.

For 15 years the Culletts relied on their family van (not wheelchair accesible) to get around with Kenzi. As Kenzi grew so did her wheelchair and she could no longer fit in the van. She is also a teenager (100+lbs) having to be lifted, by hand, into a van while still in her wheelchair. This takes it's toll, physically, on her care givers.

The family begin a search for a wheelchair van that could meet their needs. Handicap accessible vans are not something that are covered by insurance and are extremely expensive. April was advised to set up a go-fund-me page, and they were gifted a Golden 2005 Dodge Caravan that needed a lot of work. The money they made from their first go-fund-me page was used to make the caravan safe to drive. After just 8 months of having this miracle-van for Kenzi; it was stolen from their home

On Saturday, November 12, 2016, The Cullett family was moving into their new rental home. They had unloaded the last of their belongings around 11:30pm. The next morning, their wheelchair van was stolen as they slept.

Fred and April Cullett moved to Baltimore in 2011, in hopes of acquiring a better education and medical treatment for their youngest daughter, Kenzi Cullett; and now they can't even take her to the end of their street, a dead end, for her school bus. Please consider contributing to this cause. A new van would be life changing for this family.

Devastating Update: On November 17th police recovered the van. Someone had stolen their vehicle for a joy ride. The ignition has been torn out, it's missing a wheel and the front and back of the van were severly damaged.
