World Bird Sanctuary’s growth and commitment to improving the life of each bird in our care is important and exciting, but it also requires the commitment of our supporters. Proceeds will support all of World Bird Sanctuary and help us fulfill our mission through education, propagation, field studies and rehabilitation.  Birds don’t understand numbers or budgets, they just know they can count on us to get them the food and care they need every day of the year. We receive no governmental funding, and operate fully on the revenue earned from our educational programming and donations from the public.  Our birds need you!  We are grateful for your support!

The most basic need of our feathered friends at World Bird Sanctuary is the food they eat, and it is also our biggest animal-related expense. With over 400 patients per year in our rehabilitation hospital and over 200 permanent residents that will live out the rest of their lives with us, we have a lot of mouths to feed!

This past year, the sanctuary made a decision that greatly improved the health of our birds. We no longer feed our raptors donated, processed meat and have opted instead for whole food sources that closely mirror their diets in the wild and get them the proper nutrients they need to thrive. However, this decision came with a hefty price tag. WBS no longer relies on donated product, which means we pay a great deal more for food than we did before.

We are on track to see twice as many birds as last year in our hospital. We have added several new birds to our educational programs that reach almost a million people per year, including our new outreach efforts to underserved and diverse school districts. Our conservation department is acquiring several endangered species for breeding and release programs. The number of souls relying on us grows daily.

Here are some examples of how your tax-deductible donation could help:

·         $25 could feed one screech owl for a month

·         $50 could feed all parrot education ambassadors for a month

·         $100 could feed a baby American kestrel from its hatch day until its release

·         $250 could fund one run to pick up fresh fish near Branson, MO

·         $500 could feed all hospital patients for a month

·         $1000 could feed one bald eagle for a year

·         $2500 could feed all permanent residents and hospital patients for one month

·         $5000 could feed all breeding pairs of endangered species for one year

The people and animals at World Bird Sanctuary sincerely thank you for your support!
