Help our Hero

From Hero:

Hi! My name is Hero and I am a three-year-old maltese-terrier from Western Australia. My family has had a rough couple of months, but luckily they had me to help them through with it, and I would really like to stick around to help them out even more and even celebrate my fourth birthday which is next month, so please help me and them by donating a few dollars!

 Unfortunately on the 5th of May 2019, I was caught up in a vicious and unprovoked pitbull attack at Quinn's Rock Dog Beach which could have cost me my life if two amazing people didn't rush in to save me. Who would've ever thought that a walk couldn't be fun?

I was first rushed to a general vet clinic, but as my condition deteriorated, it was decided that I would be able to gain more help at a specialist, emergency veterinary clinic. I am suffering from a serious, extensive injury on my abdomen which seems to be causing me and the vets who are helping out some proper trouble. I couldn't seem to stop bleeding and my breathing was not good either. After having a late-night surgery, a drain was inserted into my stomach to remove a big pocket of blood which was becoming a major concern. Unfortunately, the swelling around the wound has not gone down and is not looking the best for me. But I am a strong boy and I am trying my best to pull through so I can go home and have all the cuddles I want.

So far my vet bills have not been all sunshine and rainbows, and it looks as if the price will only go up from here. I need you guys to help me and my humans out as they are going to struggle to scrape together all of the money. It would mean the world to me if you could spare just a few dollars because it would allow me to go home, happy and healthy. I will need further treatment after my first surgery including a possible blood transfusion, blood tests and even one other possible surgery.

So far I have already had multiple tests and scans and one minor surgery, but this has already racked up quite the amount of cash. The owner of the pitbull who attacked me should be paying the money for me to get better, as I never went to attack the dog. We are pretty sure they will not pay for any remaining costs of my treatment, even though they should seeing as it is the right thing to do. My Mum is happy to find any way to pay for my treatment because she loves me, but deep down I know that she needs your help as she doesn't have the money to comfortably pay to help me out. The final estimated vet bill is between $9000-$10,000, but luckily Mum used her big brain and secured me with some pet insurance which manages to cover some of the costs. The gap however, is still quite big, but if you donate some money, you are not just helping my family out, but you are also helping me on my road to recovery.

So please, any amount of money you are willing to donate will help me out. I would love to be able to go home and have a play, but I have to wait to get better first. I need to be strong now and fight my hardest to help myself and everyone around me because I need to stick around, because who else would chew up sticks on the couch and breath their deadly bad breath over everyone?
