laExpose' is preempting it's Extraordinary People Awards to help with a prevalent call of increased depression, anxiety, and mental illness in a project called M.A.P. "Most Amazing People" Summit. This project is far more than a Summit. It’s a documentary, a multimedia performance, storytelling vignettes, and a teaching toolkit. MAP is the story of my connection to my closest friends and family, including people that follow our projects. It’s a conversation about stigma, discrimination, and the process surviving trauma rooted in various forms of life challenges.
Stories connect us to the world outside us. It is my hope that, in sharing this collection of stories, you may find the courage to share your own experiences and try to heal from the wounds of pain and setbacks. If this is not you may you join our mission to make a difference.
I have an incredible team that I have been working with for years producing events. We need resources to travel to and fully participate in the productions in Jamaica, Africa, including entry into The Sundance Film Festival in Park City Utah. The summit and film promotions around this global event are to showcase not only the film, but the broader transmedia story of the project. Following the festival, we will be launching a series of tours and plan our schedule for the next Awards.
Your support will help us give national exposure to this grassroots media project and the important theme around confronting mental disorders. Every day begins with a set of steps and the first one is the courage to sit up, get up and live! The production team of M.A.P. is extremely grateful for your support of our project.
