On June 14, 2013 Wayne suffered a mild stroke. The stroke caused brain damage to the part of his brain that affects his cognitive skills, memory, speech, emotion etc. Wayne has spent five weeks at Gilbert Mercy Hospital and was transferred to a rehabilitation center, where he can obtain intensive therapy to help him.
Unfortunately, Wayne does not have insurance. He was denied state assisted medical care. We are working on obtain a long term care insurance through the state, however many things need to be in order before that can be processed and could take upwards of 60 days for them to determine whether or not he is approved.
Between the five weeks at the hospital and rehabilitation center, Wayne's medical bills are rapidly growing. Currently the transfer to the rehabilitation center is being funded by his Mother. She can not afford for Wayne to be there for more than a couple weeks. And more than likely Wayne will need long term continual care until he is able to be completely self sufficient and independent again.
With that, if you can help in any way, please know that Wayne will be forever grateful!
