Wayne's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
My father, Wayne is a 72 year old Vietnam Veteran. He's a man full of love and generosity with such a will to fight and survive. At the age of 45 he suffered a major heart attack and was diagnosed with congenital heart disease. This diagnosis forced him to make some major life changes. He remained healthy and active for another 20 years until 2010 when he was diagnosed with kidney and prostate cancer. After the loss of his kidney and prostate, he stayed cancer free for another eight years. Up until a few months ago this man worked, golfed, and went to the gym regularly. Six months ago he started coughing and sneezing, which led to a misdiagnosed of allergies. A few weeks later he returned to the doctor with shortness of breath and extreme coughing, he was immediately sent out for a chest X-ray and diagnosed with phenmonia, several bouts of antibiotics were prescribed and did no good. After a visit to the ER and more X-rays and CT scans, we got the grim news that his cancer is back, we played the waiting game for almost two weeks to ge the final diagnosis of Stage 4 renal and lung cancer. He has been hospitalized on and off for the past month. He still has bleeding and fluid around his lungs, caused by the cancerous mass in his abdomen as well as his lungs. We are still waiting on more tests to determine exactly how we will approach the situation but in the mean time he needs to remain rested and stress free. He will be off work for at least six months and forced to retire, which has left him and my mother scrambling on how they will survive until some huge life changing decisions are put into play. Depending on his treatment and how he responds to it, they might have to move in with me to lighten the load. Medical treatment will start in a few weeks, which is our main focus, but I'm sure the bills will begin to pile up. He only has a few month of paid leave left at work, which will cover living expenses for a short time but after that they will need some help to get them through until they're able to get everything situated. Any help will aide in coping with the shock of not only cancer but also having to retire after 62 years of working a job he loves so much. Thank you for any assistance is this difficult time for our family! ❤️
