At the beginning of October, Wayne started experiencing Covid-19 related symptoms - fever, headache, body aches, etc.  He could not get past the high fever and ended up getting tested.  The test results came back positive for Covid-19 on October 8th.   On October 15th, he ended up going to the ER due to a cough and having severe shortness of breath.  He was admitted into the hospital because his oxygen level was too low.  They attempted treating with Remdesivir however that did not seem to work.   Then they began treating him with an experimental drug named Aviptadil; this was a series of treatments over a few days.  It was given thru an IV each night and took 12 hours to administer the drug and now the doctor's are awaiting to see if that course of treatment will be effective.  He is also being treated with steroids and additional medications along with being on oxygen continuously.   As of today, Wayne is still having issues with his oxygen level and will be in the hospital for at least another week to ten days.  Once he is home he will be on oxygen along with physical therapy for an estimated four to six weeks.

In March of 2020, he was laid off from his primary job due to Covid-19.  He had a secondary job driving for both Uber and Lyft - however due to all the states shutting down because of the virus the job also slowed down along with them.  Once Wayne starting having Covid-19 symptoms he was no longer allowed to continue working for Uber or Lyft.    He lost his medical insurance in May and now has mounting medical bills.

If you can, please help Wayne get through this hardship he is dealing with.   He needs to get caught up immediately on his rent and electricity bills.   It cost him an estimated $2500 per month to cover all of his expenses (rent, utilities, car insurance, etc.).    I know so many people have been affected by this virus and are also having undue hardships.  Thank you in advance for your support - Cyndi Tullos Russell (Wayne's cousin) and his daughter, Andrea Tullos

"2020 has been the very hardest year of my life.  Never in my wildest dreams did I believe I would be in the pulmonary ICU hooked up to a breathing machine.  Throughout the year, I kept believing things would get better.  But every time I thought I was about to turn the corner, there was always something else.  It wasn't until I knew I couldn't beat Covid-19 on my own that I felt it was okay to ask for help.  Thanks to everyone for all your support. - Wayne"
