Wayne R. Smith Funeral and Probate Fund

Donation protected

On 17 March 2020, Wayne R. Smith passed away in Williamsport, PA, where he had lived for many years. He leaves no surviving family.

Wayne was a writer and a passionate advocate for the disabled. He
wrote about comic books and popular culture for _Amazing Heroes_
magazine, and contributed to the _Sherlock Holmes Mysteries_ graphic novel. He was a charter member of Shoptalk/No Name APA, an
amateur press association for comics writers and artists. His fiction
was published in literary journals, including _The Avalon Literary Review_.

As Wayne was on Supplemental Security Income (SSI) at the end of his
life, and the overwhelming bulk of his net worth consists of copyright in his mostly unpublished works, and several hundred "reading-copy"
comic books of low resale value. As his cremation and probate
expenses extend beyond what SSI provides, and what remain of his
liquid assets, we of his surviving friends -- his nominated executor
(Robert) and his nominated literary executor (E. J.) -- are setting up this GoFundMe to discharge his final debts. Robert will be in charge of
using the funds collected here toward these debts.

Any excess collected in this GoFundMe beyond covering funerary and
probate expenses will be donated to the Cancer Research Institute and
the James V. Brown Library in Williamsport, PA, in memory of Wayne R. Smith.
