My name is Jessica/River, I am twenty years old, and I kinda need help. A lot has happened to me these several months, and financially, I have taken a hit. Of course, there are people out there who need more help than me, and I know during this time not a lot of people have the money to spare, but any help is appreciated.
This summer, I had to leave my parent's house after a lifetime of abuse. As they have supported me financially throughout my life, I did not have much money to fall back on. Due to the current state of the world, despite applying for jobs, I have not yet gotten any interviews, and being a full time student, I would not be able to make enough to support myself fully right now regardless. Moreover, as I am suffering from many mental issues (which I'd prefer not to detail online), it may be difficult for me to hold a job as well. I have previously resorted to selling drugs, and prostitution for money, which I no longer wish to do as I want to start bettering my life.
I have recently come to terms with the fact that I am struggling with drug abuse. Right now, I am focusing on becoming and staying sober, and that I need mental health assistance. Yesterday, my friends called the local police department and hospital for me as I was inebriated on many substances, and attempting suicide. Instead of receiving assistance, the several officers used unnecessary force on me to restrain me (I weigh 100 lbs). I was locked in an empty room for several hours before a doctor told me to "stop doing drugs" and left. I received zero assistance, nor resources. I need surgery for a pre-existing medical condition, and am unable to afford travel expenses to see my doctor as I had to move to another city for school, and to avoid my abusive parents. I also need mental health help and medication, which I am currently receiving through my university, though I may eventually need further assistance which I will not be able to afford.
I also need money for legal help to prevent my parents from finding me (setting up a restraining order, legally changing my name, and getting copies of necessary legal documents I no longer have access to). I had to recently purchase a new phone and pay for a new contract, as my parents were using my old device to stalk me. They have reported me as a missing person hours after breaking into my home, simply to harass and attempt to control me. My parents have harassed my friends. I don't know when they will stop, so I need legal help.
I will not be able to afford my fees for the upcoming semester of school, which means I will lose the little assistance I currently have. I cannot afford my current rent any past the next two months and also feed myself. I have two thousand dollars in credit card debt I cannot pay off. I am unable to afford even a winter jacket, and I live in Canada, where the weather is already starting to cool.
I need help, and I have very little support system around me. I do not feel comfortable asking my friends for money, as they are also students with their own struggles. So as a last resort, I am appealing to the kindness of strangers to please help me
