UPDATE! - 11/21/17

PLEASE READ AND SHARE - THIS IS HUGE NEWS :)

So much has happend since the Water on Wheels mission delivered that first gallon of potable water nearly 6 weeks ago!

At first, we were focused on immediate relief, by collecting, boiling, filtering, bottling and distributing water throughout Rincon.

We then shifted our focus towards mass outreach and adopting a long-term view for recovery by setting up dozens of walter filtration systems throughout Puerto Rico and Vieques.

We've setup enough systems over the last 3 weeks to provide nearly 20,000 gallons of clean drinking water at full-capacity per day!

By joining forces with Waves for Water  and the Clean Water Corps , we now have over 150 additional filtration systems that we plan to implement throughout the island over the next few weeks!

In addition to these efforts, we're excited to launch a new mission - PureWater for Puerto Rico!

This mission has two goals to address two separate, yet related issues that we've encountered since this journey began.

First, provide an additional resource for processing drinking water on the go.

Second, mitigate the dependency on individual plastic water bottles.

With these two goals in mind, we'll be focusing on schools and universities and educating the youth and future of Puerto Rico on the profound and long-term issues surrounding the use of individual water bottles, as well as providing a convenient way to process water while away from home.

We already have a large shipment of PureWater filtration bottles on the way and we'll be donating them to students in exchange for their vow to discontinue their dependency on plastic bottles!

Each PureWater bottle has a replacable Two-Stage 0.1 Micron Hollow Fiber UF Membrane Filter with an Activated Carbron Filter, which eliminates more than 99.9% of waterborne bacteria, heavy metal ions, chlorine and other volatile organic compounds!

Also, each PureWater bottle replaces more than 3,000 individual water bottles and provides enough clean drinking water for one person for more than 2 years

The first shipment should hit the island in early December and we'll get right to work!

Also, in early 2018, we'll be offering PureWater  bottles for sale and with each bottle purchased, we will donate an additional bottle to a student in need in Puerto Rico!

With your continued support by either donating to or simply sharing our mission, we hope to educate and provide PureWater bottles for hundreds of students throughout Puerto Rico!

Stay tuned and please follow our Facebook  page to stay up to date on everything we're doing!

Thank you for all that you do, none of this would be possible without your support and it does not go unnoticed!

Original Post - Water on Wheels

The Water on Wheels mission started two weeks ago, with one gallon of potable water being delivered to one local in need.

Since then, I have collected, purified and delivered several hundred gallons of water in and around Rincon, Puerto Rico.

Most recently, the mission has been providing potable water to a local elementary school in Calvache. Also, Water on Wheels just donated an easy-to-use filtration system to a nursing home near Aguada, Puerto Rico. The filtration unit will provide more than enough drinking water to the residents and staff until running water is reestablished.

The goal is to create and strategically distribute several more filtration units throughout Puerto Rico. The units are constructed out of one 27-gallon storage tote and one Sawyer Filter Adapter Kit.

The total cost for the entire unit is $25 and can provide close to 300 gallons of filtered water per day, which is enough to sustain dozens of families every single day!

It's an easy and relatively cheap way to combat the current drinking water crisis we are facing here in Puerto Rico. One $25 donation can provide clean, potable water to nearly 600 people per day!
