WATER FOR CHILDREN

Hi Everyone,
We are currently volunteering at a small primary school in a village near Arusha, Tanzania. During our time here we have come to realize that there are many difficulties that these children face each day; the main one being that there is no water supply nearby and it is too expensive to be provided.
In Tanzania, most of the year is extremely hot and dry, meaning dehydration is a constant struggle. Kids being kids, they play all day, running and jumping around. The extremely dry weather condition, combined with their active lifestyle, enhances the requirement of water.
With constant access to water the kids will be able to concentrate better in their classes, they can wash themselves every day and learn about basic hygiene necessities preventing illness’ and infections. With this, the school can become a place where the children can fulfill their basic human needs.
We have contacted a drilling company who can help us build a water-well, which means the children will have permanent access to drinking water. The only issue being that it is quite expensive and being young volunteers we don’t have enough money to pay for this ourselves.
This is why we are asking for your help! We appreciate any kind of donation as every dollar counts and the children of the ‘Vision for Children School’ will be incredibly grateful.
Any money we raise over the €7000 needed to fund the water supply, will be used to improve the situation of the village, and the safety levels of the school. Think of safer fences, softer grounds, hygiene training, solar panels, fruit trees, etc.
We are also hoping to get the children at the local orpahange tested for aids which will enhance the chances of them being adopted and give them the opportunity to be treated.
