Water for the Seri People

Donation protected

Right now, the entire village of the Seri (Comcaac) Tribe in Punta Chueca, Sonora, is without water.

Your donations will go to buying truck loads of water to bring relief to these people. Some of the tribe are now weeks without water and it is becoming difficult to survive.

There are about 700 people in the village with around 230 water cisterns that each hold 1,100 liters or 290 gallons.
A water truck holds about 11,000 liters and costs 1,500 pesos or 85 US dollars to make a trip.
253,000 liters is needed to provide water to the village every 10 days.
That is 23 loads of water which costs 34,500 pesos or 1,955 US dollars.
Multiply 3 times a month and the total is 103,500 pesos a month or 5,865 US dollars.

These funds are needed right now.

I am working directly with Ursula Sefic, who is a medicine woman and tribal leader, to purchase these water deliveries as soon as donations are made.

Thank you for your care and generosity.
