Hi Friends!
I would like to raise money to send James Kagwe and Liz Shish to the 5-day Dryland Water Harvesting for Food Security Training with Warren Brush coming up in January here in Kenya.
This training is precisely was is needed in a Kenya now- knowledge about how to catch every drop of rain and soak it in to the landscape to hydrate the soil, and stabilize the local hydro local and nutrient cycles. This heals degraded ecology and makes it productive again for growing food for humans and animals, and works to reestablish local biodiversity again. This is our only hope to combat deadly climate extremes.
James Kagwe is a dear friend of mine- a Kenyan man who collects garbage and converts it to important compost. Since his Permaculture Design Course, he has trained dozens of women and children in his community to grow food. He has also trained Liz Shish, his partner in environmental causes in Naivasha who has also trained dozens of women in her community.
The two of them are Permaculture Champions and with this training in a Dryland Water Harvesting, I know they will take their community work to new heights. If we can send these two to this important upcoming training, I know they are going to make a huge difference in the lives of hundreds of people. Thank you for any bit of support you can provide!
