Water for the Bright Family

Donation protected
On April 20, 2018 my wife Toni, our five children and I began an incredible chapter of our lives as home owners.

It’s something that I never believe that we’d achieve.  I fought through years of depression, suicidal tendencies and complete mental misery with the help of God, my beautiful family and the VA.

After years of hard work, determination, willpower and frugal living we finally reached a point where we could begin our journey towards the American dream.

The children are flourishing, I’m a full time working musician and my wife works incredibly hard at her job and at home.

We were over the moon!  We found our dream home.  A large home  away from the city with tons of room, lots and lots of yard (as far as the eyes can see) for the children to play in and endless opportunities.

We went through the agonizingly torturous process of securing a VA loan.  Getting a VA loan basically means that everything must be nearly perfect before they’ll even consider approving it.  I fought overseas and at home in the United States Marine Corps for the benefit of the VA loan (amongst many other things.)

We moved in and were absolutely loving our home when something financially catastrophic happened.  Our well ran dry.  We literally couldn’t squeeze a drop of water out of the home we had literally just bought, and the little water we did squeeze out before it ran dry was cold (as the hot water heater had burnt out.)

To dig a new well, which we must do as it’s astronomically non economical to install city water, will cost us nearly $8,000.  It’s not covered by home insurance nor the warranty.  We literally have to foot this bill out of pocket.  The problem is, we don’t have that ability.  We’re not broke, but we absolutely do not have the finances for such an upfront financial catastrophe.

We’ve been buying water by the gallon (200 gallons so far) using it for cooking, cleaning, drinking and flushing the toilet.  You can only imagine how quickly 200 gallons of water goes in a family of 7.  In a week, we’re nearly depleted.

We have applied to the Water Well Trust and have been accepted to complete drilling for a new well, but we have to pay the money back.  It’s an incredible blessing, but still puts us in a financial bind.

We could really use some help from our family, our friends (and possibly even some enemies.)

We would greatly appreciate any amount that you can help with.
