Washington Bike Trail Repair Stand

Hi! My name is Jacob Nemec and I am a Life Scout with Troop 163 in Washington, Illinois.  I am also a freshman at Washington Community High School.  I am currently working towards the rank of Eagle, and in the process of fundraising for my Eagle Scout Service Project.

For my Eagle Project, I will be leading a group of volunteers to install a bicycle repair station along the Washington Recreational Trail. The repair station will have a bike pump and many tools that can be used to repair bikes.   It will be similar to this one that we saw in Northern Wisconsin, near my grandmother's house.

I will work with the Washington Park District to select the best point along the Washington Park District Recreational Trail for its use.  Update : The bicycle repair stand will be between the community garden and the Fire Department parking lot, it has been approved by the Park District and the City. I will also place a sign with a trail map and information about the project on it.  When completed, the bicycle repair station will be open for anyone in the community to use.

If you use the bike trail, I'd really appreciate your donation. I will not be able to complete this project without your help.  All money collected will be used to facilitate the project for the benefit of the Washington Park District.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Another Update:

We are starting the construction of the Project, thank you to all who donated!
