                                    WARRIORS FOR MAC

On February 11, 2015 at 11:30 pm Mac Gatto was walking to his place of employment in Blairsville PA and was struck by a drunk driver.  (This driver's second drunk driving arrest in less than five months.)

The force from the full size Chevy  Colorado truck threw Mac over 30 feet into a cold, wet and icy field. His boot was torn off of him by the brutal momentum of the impact and found approximately 75 feet from the impact site.

Mac suffered a severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) along with multiple broken bones, lacerations and other injuries.

After nearly a month Mac has been transferred from the original trauma hospital to a TBI Rehab. Hospital.  He is looking at a slow and arduous recovery.

Unfortunately as a part time worker, Mac has no medical insurance. Since he didn't own a vehicle he has no medical insurance attached to a car insurance policy.

We have not been able to verify that the driver had vehicle insurance at the time however we have been told by the hospital that it is doubtful the driver would have the volume of coverage that is going to be necessary to cover the costs involved.

The phrase "obscene medical expenses" has now been used twice by those in the medical field to describe his upcoming journey.  We are already learning the hard way about loss of wages and related costs involved in trying to be supportive and involved in the healing process of our son's future.

Mac was a strong healthy 23 year old working toward goals in his life.  He  just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time .  Mac will forever be impacted by the results of the bad decisions of a repeat offender drunk driver.

Funds collected will be used to pay for a variety of debt associated with Mac's accident, care and recovery.
