❤️Warriors for Wally❤️

Wally went in for a routine AAA repair which went well on June 12. In the early hours of the next morning his blood pressure bottomed out and they rushed him back to surgery to find a GI bleed, due to the amount of blood he lost, he went into complete renal failure. He was put on a ventilator and kept under heavy sedation for a week or so. The doctors didn’t offer much hope after this. But through the power of prayer he began to respond and then was able to come off the vent. Within a couple days, he started running fever and they started running test and took him back to the OR for exploratory surgery. His colon had formed an abscess and gangrene had set in. They had to remove part of his colon and resection it. After he began to heal from this, he was moved to Select Specialty at Candler Hospital for rehab. Within a week of being here, he spiked a fever and more test were ran and back to the OR he went. He had an Ileus of the small intestine, they repaired some of it but they are having to wait for him to heal some and gain some strength before they can resection it. He is beginning to gain a little strength. He was able to sit up in the side of the bed yesterday. The doctors are amazed at how much he has overcome. Some of the doctors have said that God has brought him through, some don’t mention that. But we know with a doubt that it’s been God that has seen him through each surgery and setback. He was placed back on a ventilator with each surgery, but each time was able to come off if it. He still has a very long road ahead of him, we are still not sure when he will be able to begin eating. He is receiving nutrition through a central line. He will receive OT and PT as he can tolerate it. This is Day 40 of the this horrible medical journey. And 20 days later, on day #60, he still remains inpatient and weak and weighing in at just 100lbs. As many of you may know what journeys of this nature cost...lots of time away from home, lots of time spent in waiting rooms, and eating from vending machines and such. Any and all prayers and donations are greatly appreciated. Uncle Wally and Aunt Cindy have been through so much these last 60 days and have yet a long, long road ahead. Uncle Wally was the one providing for his family and has not been to work in quite some time. Again, thank you to all of you who have prayed for this special family and continue to do so❤️
