Warriors for Ian

Through the love and friendship of friends and family a Facebook page called Warriors for Ian was started as a way for updates on his journey to be shared.
In March 2019 Ian rang the cancer bell to show his treatment was done. For a year Ian was able to go to school, play on his school basketball team and do almost anything a healthy 13 year old could do.
In March 2020, almost a year to the day of his bell ringing Ian and his family were told he had relapsed and the leukemia was back. He would be hospitalized for March/April with chemo treatments started again, all while the Covid pandemic was unfolding. Unfortunately that process was not a success. A summer of drug regiments, hospital stays and many appointments would prepare Ian for the fight of his life as he would need a stem cell transplant. The family was blessed beyond measure when Ian’s sister was his match and he received her stem cells.
Again, the stem cell transplant would not be the end of Ian’s leukemia journey as in Nov 2020 the family was told once again this form of treatment did not work for Ian.
The family has chosen to enroll Ian in a study for CAR-t therapy.
Your many prayers, gifts, thoughts, posts, cards, even a parade was thrown into the mix and support for the family have been appreciated more than you all ever know.
