Warrior Will’s Battle with Leukemia
This past week the Hughes family’s life was turned upside down when they found out their 6 year old son, Will, was diagnosed with leukemia. Will is a very active little boy. He recently started playing hockey and is on the Piedmont Youth Wresting team. Will also has a twin sister, Cora.
On November 17th, Will’s dad Billy took him in for a checkup as Will had not been acting himself recently. After some bloodwork, the diagnosis was made and they were quickly sent to OU Children’s Medical Center where he immediately began treatment. Praise the Lord Will is now back at home but he will have a long road ahead with treatments lasting 2 ½ years.
As friends of the family, we would love to help them out financially as much as possible. Billy is currently on disability from being hit while on the job as a highway patrol. Jenny is a nurse but will be taking off to help care for Will during this time. So many people have asked how they can help and we feel this is the best way possible to help them out with the medical bills that will begin building up soon. We want them to be able to focus on their family and help eliminate some of the stress they are going to be facing financially.
Above all, please pray for this sweet family during this difficult time. Please Pray Will’s body responds to the treatment and pray for REMISSION. Also pray for Cora who is going to struggle seeing her brother go through this awful disease and not fully understanding it all. Pray for strength for Billy and Jenny as we can’t even imagine the stress and anxiety they are dealing with on a daily basis.
