Warren Hawkins Covid 2020

Our whole household came down with
Covid the week of 11/16/20.  Lance, my husband was first, then me, our daughter, then my dad who lives with us.  My dad
needed the ER on 11/29/20...he had
been there until 12/11/20 when he was
transported to a local rehab center for
speech, physical therapy and to continue to monitor and control his kidneys and insulin issues still.  We are unsure how long he will need to be there.  1 month cost
20,000 and requires 4000 down
payment.  We did not have this and his
95 year old mother put the money up
front.  At her age she is on very limited
means so this affects her as well.  We
have not been paid by my husband’s
work in 4 weeks so far.  Cigna still says
his short term disability as pending.  We don’t know why because his doctor
spoke to them and they have his Covid
positive test results which were sent out, it wasn’t a rapid test.  They’ve had this
info since the week of 11/16/20.  Many
know I’ve been going through it with all
of this on top of being sick myself and
still testing positive myself along with my preexisting health issues.  I can’t keep us above the red zone financially with all
that’s happening.  I didn’t know how
these fundraisers work but I know and
was advised by many friends to do this.  
So I’m trying this and seeing.  I don’t
know what else to do at this point.  

The hospital has told me his bills will be
for there in the mid 6 figures, I’m nervous about receiving those still.

As many know we’re still trying to pay off medical bills from 4 previous hospital
stays for Doug in the last 5 years.
When he found out he was diabetic,
when he had colon cancer and surgery,
when he needed a full abdominal
reconstruction surgery which at first
they thought would be minor hernia
surgery, then when he had to go after a
truck rear ended him on I240 here in
January of 2020(other insurance from
wreck of the other individual paid most
but he had a $2000 deductible which
wasn’t covered, then exactly 1 month
later in February 2020 he had a heart
attack and that was 2 separate ER visits
and the second one they rushed him
back and had to put a stent in.  Doug is a
fighter, no doubt but now since all this
has happened and I see the full picture
with recent events, I can’t pay all this
nor he.  
I’m just needing to raise money to help
cover hospital, med costs, facility costs, medication costs, and some monthly bills we will be short in if we don’t get Lance’s disability soon to help with those, even
when we do receive it, it will not be
enough to help.  At this rate, yes, we
could lose our home.  I’m just trying to doall I can to not let this happen.

If you cannot, please just pray for us,
especially our Doug.  We just want him
back to his old self and home.  I don’t like
thinking he’ll spend Christmas at a rehab center and alone.  No one is allowed in
there and for good reason but this is
hard,  I truly believe this is the hardest
thing we’ve faced and many know we
have been through many unbelievable
hard events in our lives as a whole here.

I’m not even sure this amount will be
enough once all bills are in but I know
this will be a start to get us back where
we can begin to help ourselves again
especially financially.
