**UPDATE: PLEASE READ!**
I was forced to make a new Gofundme. The last one I had entered as USD because I wanted the money to go directly to Kay.
Unfortunately, a US Tax ID is required for withdrawal, which Kay, nor I, has.
I was not aware of this requirement..
We are hoping someone at the Undisclosed Location Kay is staying in, will be willing to accept the donations made so far. Otherwise, Gofundme, will be required to refund the donors directly after 90 days.
I am so sorry for this confusion and send so many thanks to the Donors thus far!!!
You are all angels <3
To those, who donated directly to me, do not worry, that money will for sure make it to Kay.
Please use this new Canadian made Gofundme for donations going forward!
Kay moved down to North Carolina from Winnipeg, Canada last fall to marry what she thought was the "love of her life"
Unfortunately sometimes, charming people are not who they appear to be. She had been caught in a very abusive relationship with this man.
At the time of these graphic photos, she covered for him. She was terrified as she has been terrorized by him for months.
She sold her car to pay their rent and stayed with him until this past weekend, when things got to a point she could no longer take. She took his car and went to the police who told her to come back Monday (May 18th). Which she did....
They did not help, they told her to go back to Charlotte to change the initial police report and sent her away with no help.
While in the station, her 'husband' took his car back. Shelters in the area are full, she has no car, no money, no insurance, is in another country and is being stalked by a psychopath...She just wants to come home.
She does not have much family and not many friends. I personally stopped working in September to go to school and am not in a position to be able to cover her costs home, but am hoping this might help.
I put the goal as $1000 but honestly, any little bit will help. Not many airlines are flying, but she needs to find her way back to Canadian soil.
If you can help, please do. And if not, please consider sharing this page.
Domestic Violence is real and women die at the hands of their partners at alarming rates. I'm worried for her and I'm reaching out.
Thank you for reading her story.
