Winter Warmers

Winter Warmers are supply kits that provide essentials to help Portland, Oregon's homeless people through the cold, wet months. Each kit also provides an opportunity for conversation. Founder Abe Nelson makes sure to talk with every person he meets as he hands out Winter Warmers around town.

Winter Warmers are part of a larger project called Warming Photos PDX is a project dedicated to telling the stories of homeless people and making meaningful connections with them while helping them out. In Portland, Oregon, because of the current housing crisis, we see homelessness all around us. Many of us have homeless neighbors, and it is the purpose of this project to help citizens view these neighbors as individuals with unique backgrounds and stories. Visit Website.

Abe's goal is to befriend and help 200 homeless citizens this winter through the Winter Warmers program. Each kit costs $10 to make, so Abe has set a fundraising goal of $2000. Please consider donating to this cause and warming the homeless this winter.Thank you.
