Hi. My name is Bridget, I am 55 years old and along with my 23 year old daughter Martha, have been homeless for over a month. Kind souls have allowed us to stay in their screenhouse, but it's getting too cold, very quickly. We need to secure housing as soon as possible.
Martha and I are both enrolled in tax school with job offers secured once we are 1/2 way through our classes (we're currently 1/4 of the way through). We are staying about 45 minutes away from Bangor with no reliable way to get to work, so we must move closer, at least on the bus line.
We're planning on renting a motel room for a month and working any and all jobs we can find to not only get back on our feet, but also make sure this NEVER happens again. Bangor has a ton of good jobs we've been trying to interview for, but transportation is a HUGE issue. I do have a current driver's license, but I had to sell my car to pay rent at our previous residence.
We've looked for help everywhere else we can think of, but red tape is the only thing available to us.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about anything. I'll be more than happy to give you an honest answer.
Please, please help or share. Good vibes help, but it's getting too cold to keep us warm at night.
Thank you for reading.
