Warm Meals in the Winter

Winter is here and earlier than we thought (in true 2020 form) and it is not going to get any warmer. While many of us have adjusted our thermostats, there are still hundreds of people living outdoors in encampments in and around the cities. Amidst an economically devastating pandemic and a social justice uprising, the turmoil that many are experiencing has become far worse with the blistering cold.

While we cannot solve the housing issue with a GoFundMe, we can absolutely give individuals experiencing homelessness a warm place to rest and a warm meal to get them through the day. What we're doing is buying gift cards to distribute amongst our unhoused neighbors so they may have a warm, comfortable chair and some nourishment for a day with the dignity of being a paying guest.

For every $20 donated, an unhoused individual will receive this gift of reprieve from the cold. Every gift card will be purchased at locally owned establishments to ensure that our dollars go as far in our local community as possible.

If this campaign sees enough love, we will renew the campaign every cold month this year, since we know the housing issue will not be solved before our next summer month. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
