<div>A wretched war took a brave warrior from Chicago. Myhailo Yavorskyi, who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a volunteer, was killed because he could not remain indifferent, and watch how Russia was trying to destroy his homeland. A US army veteran who refused to see injustice against his homeland volunteered to join the Ukrainian army in March of 2022. He is a Hero of Ukraine and a model of patriotism.

<div>He is survived by his wife and a little daughter, who need our help the most right now.

<div>I remember overhearing Myhailo telling his daughter that she could be anything she wants when she grows up and encouraging her to be a scientist or an engineer to make the World a better place. As a University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign graduate, Myhailo experienced the transformative power of education and dreamed of his little girl attending his alma mater.

<div>Sadly, Myhailo won't be here to check his daughter's homework, build electric circuits or majestic LEGO structures with her, go to father-daughter dances with her, or walk her down the aisle at her wedding. However, Myhailo was committed to providing his daughter with every possible educational opportunity so that she could pursue her dreams and live a successful and fulfilling life.

<div>Михайло закінчив Університет Іллінойсу, де отримав спеціальність Інженера-Елекрика та щиро вірив, що освіта є ключем до успішного життя. Він мав намір надати своїй донечці всі можливості для отримання освіти, щоб вона могла реалізовувати свої мрії та жити успішним і повноцінним життям. Він мріяв, що одного дня вона закінчить Університет та отримає спеціальність в точних науках. Він багато розповідав як буде возити ії на заняття з робото-техніки та математики. Також, Михайло збирав книги з Історію України, він знав всі дати, всі події і планував передати свої знання і любов до України донечці.
