Getting Out of Pet Medical Debt
Donation protected
*Edit: Below is the original situation we were in May of 2022. As we mention in the updates, our dear dog Wanda didn't make it out of the ICU. We had to let her go when she started declining drastically and was clearly suffering as she died. Over a year later, we're still paying off these bills along with taking care of our other rescue dog Moira and on top of one of us losing our full-time job. We need help and hitting our goal here would stabilize our finances for the first time in over a year.*
Hi, I'm Katie. My partner Madison and I adopted the absolute sweetest rescue dog in January of this year. Wanda has been a bright spot in our lives and she makes people smile wherever she goes.
While she recently finished her heartworm treatment, an emergency vet appointment on Sunday, May 15th, showed a major infection in her lungs from acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). She's in the ICU and getting better, but slowly and with some setbacks.
She's only about three years old and has so much more life to live. She's such a trooper about all this poking and prodding and we want to make sure she gets all the help she needs.
This blindsided us financially. Every day she's on oxygen is so so expensive, but we can't give up on her when she's fighting so hard. Thank you to anyone willing to help our sweet girl.
