Hi, my name is Jo and I’m fundraising to help my English Springer Spaniel, Walter, get back on his feet and well again.
Walter is a very, VERY special soul. He is literally the most loving, brave, PAWGEOUS, cheerful ‘Hooman Supporter’ you could ever wish to meet. Anybody that has met Walter will tell you that he LOVES running, chasing and playing, and LOVES his daily walk ❤️
Sadly, Walter was hit by a car on 28 December 2024 while out chasing fun in the fog. We believe he got disoriented because the fog was so dense, and panicked. He was missing and silent for a long time until we eventually found him lame and in agony.
Walter was heroically carried by me and my lovely friend to a vehicle, and was then transPAWted to an animal hospital. PAW Walter was found to have a dislocated hip, lots of bruises and multiple injuries.
Given the extent of his injuries, if Walter is ever to stand on his little paws again, or stand any chance of running and chasing fun, he will either need to have his leg amputated (estimated £3.5k), or the hip socket rebuilt (estimated anywhere between £4 and £11k).
So far, for his emergency treatment, X-rays, pain relief and bandaging, we have spent £3379. We have pet insurance that will pay the first £1k - but everything else has needed to be paid by us.
We would do ANYTHING to keep Walter alive and kicking, but while he is essentially unable to move, he is not living the life he deserves as a fun and bubbly Springer Spaniel.
We would REALLY appreciate any love, prayers and spare change you might have to help Walter get back to his usual self.
