Donation protected
Walter's Memorial Service was held on Friday, September 8, 2017.  It was a beautiful Celebration of his Life.  The Campaign is Officially Closed as of today September 11, 2017.

Thanks so much to all the contributors to Walter's Campaign.  I am Claude A. Jones, one of his Fraternity Brothers from Freehold, NJ.  The funds collected will be used to pay:  Woody's funeral home; plants & flowers; & memorial service programs.  Nicole Fisher, Nelson Hayspell and I will manage and distribute the funds as required.

Walter H. Allen, beloved son, father, brother, uncle, friend and proud Omega man, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the age of 62.

Walter was born March 5, 1955, in East Orange, New Jersey and was a lifelong area resident and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  He was educated in the East Orange public schools system where he played baseball and football.  He went on to receive his BA from Rutgers University – New Brunswick.   This is where he played college football and baseball.  Walter also known as "Buzzy" pledged at Tau Zeta Chapter, Rutgers University and became a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated.  The brotherhood is built on a strong an effective force of men dedicated to its Principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift.  This was Walter’s calling card and the everlasting bond with his Omega brothers.

Walter carried these principles into every facet of his life from his work with WBGO Radio, WCTC-Radio, Weitz & Luxenberg, and Fox News Sirius Radio.  Walter also volunteered- especially with the Unstoppable Girls and advocating for political fairness for his beloved New Jersey.   His contemporary involvement with the North Jersey Philharmonic Glee Club reflected his passion for music.  His favorite piece was "It Is Well With My Soul."

He was fondly known as “Buzz” by family and “Buzzy” by his Omega family.  Walter went through both good and bad times but he perserved and sought God’s guidance.  Our whole Walter family/community is in shock at his sudden passing.  His mother, at the beautiful age of 99 years old has lost three of her sons.  We have lost a beautiful soul.

Walter "Buzzy" Allen leaves behind his beloved mother Susie Allen and his son David Dandridge.  He also leaves a brother Boyd, wife Teresa, his brother Jimmy and youngest brother Scott.  He also leaves his Niece, Leah and her family.  He was predeceased by two brothers.

WE have lost a dear friend and valued colleague.  We all know how proud he was of his work with Unstoppable Girls, helping his fellow colleagues and providing untiring support to his lovely mother.  Walter will always be remembered as a tremendous individual.  We will all miss this good man and beautiful human being.

In the words of our Omega brothers,  Brother Walter “Buzzy” Allen has transitioned into the Omega Chapter.

This fund is going directly to help  pay for the arrangements and other financial challenges as he did not have life insurance coverage.  We know there are a lot of Walter’s friends and colleagues and family around the country that knew him well and loved him like a brother that unfortunately can’t make the Memorial service, but would like to contribute.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Woody’s Funeral Home. The Memorial service is currently set for: Friday, September 8th, 5pm-7pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 66 South Grove Street, East Orange NJ 07018.

Let not your heart be troubled, Walter "Buzzy” Allen is at Peace and with the Lord.
