Oh my!  On March 27, 2018 our team received a call that our kids will remember for the rest of their lives.  Team Robo-Rebels #1359 was invited to attend The FIRST Championship World Festival being held in Houston, TX from April 18-21, 2018.  

So what's the big deal?  Our kids have been participating in a robotics program called First Lego League (FLL) for the past 4 years.  FLL is one of 4 international programs under the FIRST umbrella that kids from Kinder-12th grade can participate in.   At the end of the regular season, the best of the best from around the WORLD get the coveted invitation to attend the World Festival. 

This season in FLL alone, over 35,000 teams from around the world participated.  Our team was one of only 200 teams to be invited to this international festival.  That's less than 1%!  Getting the invitation alone is a major accomplishment.

With all the heart-pounding thrills and team spirit of a professional sporting event, FIRST uses robotics as the backbone for the “only sport where every kid can go pro.” 

Here's where we need your help.  There are many things that need to get purchased in a short amount of time to get these kids to Houston, TX.  Plane tickets, lodging, transportation, T-Shirts, easy-up, prints for posters, custom bookmarks, and the list goes on and on.  We want to show the WORLD our WALNUT pride.  

We are extremely proud of all that these 6th and 7th graders have accomplished.  Their countless hours and their dedication to their team has really paid off.  

Any amount small or large will tremendously help the team.
