Ok so I was really freaked out when I wrote this 6 months ago! Since that time we have turned it all around, thanks to the generous and arduous support of our friends. Thanks all so much you have gifted us with constant hope, love and gratitude.... here's what I wrote back in January:

We need help. So overwhelmed by recent events I know God has us in the palm of his hand. Please help us keep the lights on! We have insurance thank God, but we have huge bills to cover with the 7700. 00 deductible. We have some income, Wally has retired and we have applied for disability but it will be months before it comes thru. I am working a new job from home in phone sales but it's just not enough yet. I know we will get thru it and I am so glad that he is making progress!

Wally is still at stage 3 with Non Small Cell Adeno Carcimona Lung Cancer but the latest scans show a 30% reduction in the tumor on his lung. Wally is blessed that our plan is with Tennessee Oncology, and he is in treatment with Chemo and Immunotherapy and we are expecting to add Radiation and Surgery in the near future.

He is also blessed to be tolerating treatment well with minimal side effects so far aside from fatigue, coughing and shortness of breath, he needs to rest and heal. We took a gig at the Fillin' Station on March 17th but I am going to have a back up bass player cause it might be too much for him. I know he wants to play but it's just not worth it to wear him out. I am so thankful that he is gaining on this disease, I don't want to risk his progress.

We have many great friends who have come to our aid and we are so thankful for all the support, cards, letters, meals, recipes, remedies and love coming our way. We thank you in advance for the financial support we need to make it right now. I suspect we'll do a benefit concert at some point, and hopefully some good songwriting will come out of this! For now I'm just coming up for air after our first progress report since he had his seizure on our way to a New Years Eve Party/Jam Dec 31rst.

One thing is for certain, this has brought us much closer, and made us gratefully aware of how precious life will be. We are living in the moment, day to day, hour by hour and minute by minute. Our faith is strong and our hearts are steadfast. We know that God is with us and we are so thankful!
