“Walking home” Atlanta to Chicago

Donation protected

Chicago natives are moving to various parts of the country due to the conditions they are facing. It's not just the senseless gun violence, but also the lack of resources, employment, housing, and equitable opportunities available.

While Chicago is not alone with the increased gun violence, Chicago has the measurable high numbers. Just on the past July 4th weekend alone, there were 100 people shot with 19 fatalities. And as of July a total of 569 people shot with 95 fatalities including young teens and babies.

A native Chicago Activist by the name of Jedidiah Brown, is attempting to boost awareness and bring about a solution in his hometown, Chicago. Jedidiah devoted ten plus years to Advocacy and protesting in Chicago before he himself relocated due to mental duress.

Chicago is not the only city enduring increased senseless gun violence, along with poverty and family disconnect, which is why he will make stops in several cities along his journey back home, in hopes to bring awareness and to connect with others who left Chicago and shed some light on bringing about a solution and what it would take to make it happen He wants to encourage others to join him on this journey to have a greater impact and pull together ideas and resources to rid our cities of senseless gun violence and poverty, not to point fingers at racism.

To draw awareness to gun violence, poverty and lack of resources, Jedidiah will begin his walk from the steps of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birth home in Atlanta, GA to Chicago, IL, on Aug 7th, 2021, at 7:00 am. Again, Jedidiah will make stops along the way to express his love for his city in hopes of bringing about change not only in Chicago, but to start a trend across the country.

The exact location in Chicago will be determined prior to the start of the walk. At that location is where the end of the walk rallie will be held.

Jedidiah is asking anyone who can and is able, to please join him on this journey back home to Chicago to bring awareness to these issues.

He is seeking sponsors to assist with costs related to this long yet much needed journey of “WALKING HOME”. Interested donors can contribute via CasApp $ffjb. Contributions are tax deductible. Upon request, a contribution letter will be provided.

If you are interested in joining the Walking Home journey, please send an email to [email redacted].
