Last December, George Hooley, our Chloe’s partner, tragically died while serving in the British military out in Ukraine. George was an incredible man who was loved by all that knew him, and his warm and compassionate nature continues to have an immeasurable impact on us all. George had a deep respect for the people of Ukraine and his acknowledgment of the ongoing struggles they face was evident. We aim to honour George’s memory and his commitment by helping the Ukrainian people in our own way.

To demonstrate our support, we (Chloe’s brother Will and her Dad Andy) will be driving to Ukraine in November, as part of Convoy4Ukraine, to deliver much needed medical and humanitarian aid, including tourniquets, stretchers, medical metal detectors, water filters and generators, among other supplies to help families displaced from their homes. At the end of the trip, we will also be donating our own 4x4 car; a vehicle type much needed by the Ukrainian people to help rescue and transport wounded.

As well as donating the car, we’re also looking to raise £10,000 to pay for the supplies listed above. 100% of donations will go towards purchasing these supplies. To do this, Will, alongside 4 close friends (Tom, Nick, Louis and Will T) will be completing the national 3 peaks challenge on 3rd October, which involves climbing the tallest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon), a total of 23 miles, all within 24 hours including time to drive between each mountain. Tom, Nick, Louis and Will T are old friends that have provided incredible support over the past year and are continuing to do so by taking on this challenge together for George.

Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated, and we will share updates of the journey as we complete this challenge in George’s memory.
