2017 Harvest for the Homeless

Tax deductible
Dear Friends of the Homeless;

Walker County Coalition for the Homeless needs your help.  Between now and the end of the year WCCH must raise $65,000 to serve the needs of our homeless population.  WCCH has served needy citizens of Walker County since 2008.  Over the past decade, the need has increased by almost 20%.

The primary goal of WCCH, a 501c 3 non-profit, is to provide emergency shelter for families, men, and women experiencing  homelessness and housing instability.  Through homeless motel vouchers, we take people out of cars and off the street. We then work to find and secure permanent housing by providing deposits and rent assistance.  We also help with finding food and clothing resources.

The need is great with over 240 homeless in Walker County on any given night; with nearly half being under 18 years of age.

WCCH is not trying to put a Band-aid on the problem of chronic homelessness.  Our goal is to break the cycle and ultimately end homelessness in Walker County.
By conducting thorough assessments and creating a personalized plan, WCCH seeks to provide adequate financial training, personalized mentoring,  and connections to job placement services that will create a sustainable change.

Your donation will help make this possible.

Sincerely,
Lona Courington - Executive Director
