Firefighters arrived were called to the scene of a raging apartment fire in northeast Portland Thursday morning.

Crews responded to 5665 Northeast Glisan Street just before 7 a.m.

The building includes Big’s Chicken, which only opened in April.

Plumes of smoke and heavy flames continued to emit from the burning structure as fire crews attempted to extinguish the blaze.  Crews said the fire ripped through a large, empty attic space. Electrical wiring also made the fire difficult to fight.

Portland firefighters said three people were rescued from the fire. Two people were rescued by firefighters and one jumped from a second-story window. All were taken to the hospital.

The fire was knocked out about an hour later. Portland Fire & Rescue later said 14 adults were displaced by the fire.

Please help my fiancee and myself to get ourselves established, so we can buy clothing and find a place to live again.
Thank you very much! Everything helps.
