Walk With Strike Force In Support of JIGSAW Ire

Donation protected

Strike Force All Star Cheer are based in Finglas, Dublin 11, Ireland.

We work with over 100 young people from all over North Dublin, including members from Meath & Kildare too.

Cheerleading is a competitive sport where we train hard to flip, tumble and throw people in the air, but one of the fundamental skills we encourage our athletes to develop is leadership skills, and a way they can demonstrate this is by becoming community focused, and developing opportunities chance to give back.

Over the last number of years, like many youth sporting organisations, we have worked with many young people who have found themselves in crisis dealing with an array of mental health issues. Whilst we believe the national awareness of this is greater than ever, but, we can always do more, especially where in these challenging times, we are feeling it most.

Young people, have been cut off school, cut off from peers, social life gone in an instant, lots of uncertainty about relationships, exams and their futures. They take on the burden of families losing their income and now life has changed for them, some young people are living in domestic violence situations, with no get out due to the lock down, and some are just feeling sad. Even for adults, it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel right now. All young people need to be supported no matter what, so we felt it was important to raise money for a charity that supports young people and their mental health.

Jigsaw Ireland - The National Centre for Youth Mental Health. There to ensure that no young person feels alone, isolated and disconnected from others around them. We provide vital supports to young people with their mental health by working closely with communities across Ireland.

Strike Force members will be walking 100km over the next 30 days, they will do this as individuals, or family units in line with national restrictions.

Can you support our members, our coaches and our families by donating towards our chosen charity? We hope you can, no donation too small.

The walks will begin on the 25th April and the milestone reached on the 25th May 2020.
