Walk with Nathan

I am starting a GoFundMe page on behalf of my nephew Nathan Wolford, to raise money for medical, prosthetics and rehabiliation expenses.  Here is Nathan's story.

"Tuesday September 5th at about 8:30 my coworker Jed and I were chipping brush on main street out by Hillcrest. I was standing facing on coming traffic and putting brush into the chipper, when a car came from behind and crashed into me, pinning my legs between their car and the wood chipper. I was trapped in between the car and the chipper for roughly an hour while the fire department developed a plan to get me free. Once I was finally free I was flown to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids by Aero med."

Nathan has had many surgeries on his legs since September 5th.  The medical teams made every effort to repair and restore his legs and to prevent infection, but recently they had to take aggressive measures against the fast growing infection in both legs. Ultimately it was necessary to do a bilateral (double) amputation of Nathan's legs.

We ask for continued prayers for infection to stay away, as the teams have several more surgeries to do over the next week.  He is on powerful antibiotics and they're monitoring closely for signs of infection.  We're hopeful everything will go well so he can go to rehab at Mary Free Bed soon.  Please also pray for peace and emotional healing for Nathan as he embarks on this new journey in life.  He is the strongest and most amazing young man.  We couldn't be more proud of him.  Everyone here is saying they are excited to watch what he is going to do in his life.  We couldn't agree more.  It's a long road ahead, but he has a strong support system of devoted family and friends, and we're going to walk it together.
