Walk for the Trees 2023

Hi, My name is Mark and I am fundraising to support tree planting for two organizations: Global Tree Initiative, a registered charity in Florida, USA and Atisha Buddhist Meditation Centre, in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. The funds will be raised through the sponsorship of two people to undertake a 90-kilometer charity walk over four days on March 27-30, 2023. These two organizations, one operating globally and one in the Central Victorian region, are undertaking ecosystem restoration work to address habitat loss and climate impacts. The funds raised will go towards financial support for the global operations of Osel Hita's philanthropic venture @GTI in 65 countries. Since 2019, GTI and its supporters have planted over 4 million trees, many of which are located in developing nations in Africa and Asia. The funds raised will also support tree planting of remnant bushland at Atisha Centre which is also a partner of GTI. The funds will be distributed on a 50:50% basis to GTI and Atisha Centre.
