Walk for SASANE
In May/June 2018 I shall be walking from near my home in St Abbs in the Scottish Borders to my school in Edinburgh. The walk as it stands is around 64 miles, and I am doing this to raise awareness and money for SASANE.
SASANE is a survivor led organisation which believes that women survivors of human trafficking have immense potential to combat the exploitation of Nepalese women and girls, and to create social change.
Just $10 can provide trainig for 6 paralegals.
They run several programs, including a Paralegal Program where human trafficking survivors are trained to become certified paralegals. As paralegals, survivors can provide access to justice, free of charge, to other women survivors of human trafficking and gender-based violence in Nepal.
Human trafficking suriviors who do not have the equivalent of a high school diploma are part of the Sisterhood of Survivors (SOS) program where they are provided with hospitality training which includes training in conversational English, culinary skills, customer engagement, accounting, and food and beverage management.
