Walk for Folly Farm

Donation protected
Hello! This page is for my daughter Tiffany who is 9 years old to raise money for Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo. Tiffany will be walking 100 miles with her mum and 3 year old brother over a period of time to raise some much needed funds for our local zoo.

Why we have chosen to do this. Part of a school task at home during Covid-19 has been to do something 100 times or miles over a period of time and while completing the task we wanted to do something worthwhile.
Our National zoos are in crisis. They have little to no support during this pandemic, the bulk of income they get to care for their animals, update the zoo and help conservation funds globally is usually from the summer months and with the inability to open they are suffering. Folly Farm is our local zoo, located in Pembrokshire, Wales. It is incredibly dear to our hearts. From myself visiting  as a child when it was but a small farm with cows, lambs to feed and hay bales to jump in and the vintage fair to the award winning zoo it is today, where Tiffany fell in love with penguins and decided to work with animals in the future. We want to raise money for them through these difficult and uncertain times so that items from their wish list for the animals can be purchased to ensure things like enrichment, water quality and general maintenance can be a load off the keepers and managers minds. They need our help and support and so do their beautiful animals which they care for so deeply. The running costs haven't gone away while the visitors have. If we go greatly over our target some of the money will go to support the conservation work and charities that Folly Farm themselves support and are also missing out on those vital donations. while the park is closed.

About Folly Farm: Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo started off as a simple dairy farm. It's owners Glyndŵr Williams and his wife Anne decided to open to the public in 1988 welcoming people in to see the cows being milked. From this it continuously grew into the award winning attraction it is today. Since those early days Folly Farm has seen a lot of change, from a large undercover vintage funfair, the the introduction of their giraffes, penguins and rhinos. Folly Farm is an ever developing attraction, they support and are active in very important conservation work and still hold the values they started with and support their local community. In January this year they welcomed the arrival of their first Critically Endangered Eastern Black Rhino calf, aptly named Glyndwr after their founder who sadly passed at the beginning of the year. He is one of an estimated 40 to be born within the UK in 20 years and is a crucial part of his species survival.  This is just one of many great conservation achievement and species from them.

Please help us to help them and continue their fantastic efforts and show them that we do and will continue to support them and everything they do.
