Walk and Run. 6-Million-Steps - 3,000-miles.

Tax deductible
Want to join me walking + running, + playing tennis in 2021 to raise money for kids?

I’m raising money to benefit BC’s Children’s Hospital Foundation, and any donation made will have a tremendous impact.

Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause. A cause that should mean the World to all of us.

More information about BC’s Children’s Hospital Foundation: BC Children’s Hospital is the only hospital in the province devoted exclusively to children’s care. As one of the few pediatric medical centers in North America with a world-class acute care center, research institute, mental health facility and soon, rehabilitation center all on one campus, we provide expert care for the sickest and most seriously injured kids. At BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, we have a vision that every child is healthy and can fulfill their hopes and dreams.

Lindsay, why are you doing this?

Great question. The World got tossed around a ton in the last year. I turned 60, my career became a COVID casualty. Depression started knocking at my door. Like most people, I stopped moving; instead I sat sitting on the couch with the lights off, wallowing.

My girth expanded. I decided to move, and move, I did.

With my friend Jay, walking beside me I, managed to move to the tune of 5,700,000 steps, almost 2,800 miles.

The equivalent of 501.09 laps of Vancouver's fabulous seawall. Seriously!

Amazing things started to happen: my mind cleared, the depression brought on by uncertainty began lifting, the uncertainty stayed, but it became somewhat manageable.

And Jay and I walked and walked, ran a few steps, rallied on the court a bit, and I dropped from 212 pounds to 175. Seriously. My "FITNESS WATCH" began to taunt me.

We walked the equivalent to Vancouver to Saskatoon and back +++

Lindsay, who are you?

I’m a newly turned (July) 60-year-old-man residing in Vancouver,

I’m a writer, working diligently on having a couple of manuscripts find publishing homes.

And, once again, like most people on the planet, I’ve lost someone important in my life to Cancer, and I have a burning desire to try to give something back.

I’ve decided I want to try to give something to help Children.

The BC’s Children’s Hospital Foundation sprung to mind.

What’s in it for you, Lindsay?

A warm feeling. By donating you will be able to share in the warm feeling with me.

And probably, I'll go through two or three, or four, new pairs of shoes!

So, won’t you join me in supporting this worthy cause?

My goals for the year are 6-million steps, 3,000 miles. I’ve got a long road ahead of me and every penny raised will go directly to help children.

Happy Walking!

Lindsay
