Waldorf Today is ten years old and we're asking for your help to bring the message of Waldorf Education to an even wider audience through our weekly newsletter and our website waldorftoday.com.
I started waldorftoday.com in 2008. There was a real need for a jobs board for teachers and schools in the US and I hoped that Waldorf Today could bring people together.
The first newsletter was just job listings, about 25 of them. The early newsletters came out monthly, but the number of jobs increased so quickly that I went to every two weeks.
There was so much going on in American schools and schools around the world, but there wasn't really anywhere to read about it. We started bringing those articles and news together and publishing it weekly. The number of subscribers increased to over 1,000 by the end of our first year.
Waldorf education works in so many incredible ways. We try to bring you a small slice of that every week. Over the past ten years, we've brought you thousands of articles about every aspect of Waldorf education in our newsletters.
Above all, we want to inspire our readers and excite them about the wonderful possibilities for children and families everywhere.
I am so grateful when I meet a teacher and tell her that I founded and publish Waldorf Today. She smiles (huge smile!) and says, "I found my dream job on Waldorf Today."
Making sure that teachers, schools and families connect is at the heart of our jobs board. There were over 1,000 job postings this summer alone.
Thank you for being so supportive and receptive to everything we offer. We love what we do.
We don't receive any outside funding and we rely solely on donations and advertising for support. However, advertising revenue alone doesn't cover what we need. We need to hire additional staff this year and we need $600/month to do that.
We're asking you to help us raise $7,200 for the coming year. That's $600/month and it will really support our work.
