An Amazing Summer

Donation protected

Hey there, I'm Noah! I'm an aspiring cellist and composer. I have been given another wonderful opportunity to attend the Walden School, a music camp that changed my life last summer. It is truly an inspiring experience. Words can't fully describe it.

The people you meet are all friendly and just great people. This is the only place where so many kids from across the country come to see old friends and make sweet, beautiful music.

Anyway, about the camp:
The camp is primarily about music composition. The faculty, musicians, and composers come from all over the world and truly care about teaching and helping the attendees create the music they want to. It has many other things to offer though, including mandatory singing (it's fun so i'm fine with it) and other classes like music theory, music history, electronic music, study of string quartets, film scoring, ethnomusicology (study of the music of different different cultures), 21st century music, Beethoven Symphonies, and much more. Every weekend we go on a hike and climb one of the nearby mountains. We sing songs, hang out, and play music together.

I was fortunate enough to have received a little less than half the total tuition with a scholarship, but I still need an additional $3,800.

I've been playing cello ever since I was 8 through my elementary school orchestra program. I've been taking private lessons from age 9 to the present. I'm currently 15 years old and a sophomore in high school. Music Composition is a relatively recent endeavor, I've been taking lessons for a year. In case you can't tell, music is a HUGE influence in my life. Music is my way to vent and let out my emotions. This isn't just a way to escape from real-life problems, though, this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I honestly don't know what I would do as a career if I'm not able to do music. It's just the thing I was meant to do. The Walden School would help me on my path to becoming a professional musician,  in addition to getting a few of my pieces performed!

Please help me become a composer!

No amount is too small to help!

The video is the big composition project that I made last year for Walden.
