<div>Hi my name is Emmanuel Noisette and I’m a film critic, Youtuber and comic book fan. In 2018, Marvel Studios released the very first <strong><em>Black Panther </em></strong>movie and that film made a huge cultural impact. So much so that it inspired me to buy out a theater so that the kids in my community could see a movie with so much positive representation. Seeing T’Challa overcome so much on-screen made it even more heart-wrenching to hear that The Black Panther himself, Chadwick Boseman, passed away after losing his battle with colon cancer. I was even more devastated by the news because Chadwick was one of my favorite actors and the Black Panther was my favorite comic book hero. A hero I could finally see himself in.

<div>However, I also learned that Chadwick was a superhero both on and off camera. Throughout filming and while fighting his illness, he would visit the children at St. Jude’s Research Hospital. Many of the kids who looked up to his Black Panther character were given a sense of hope when they saw him. I recall an <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6J-D86wfxiE" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">interview with Chadwick</a> where he talked about two terminally ill children who were trying to hold on until Black Panther premiered. Those kids inspired him to keep fighting through his illness just to complete the Black Panther film for them to see it.

<div>Chadwick’s level of courage is exactly why I’m starting this new <strong>#WakandaForeverChallenge</strong>. By raising funds we can continue Chadwick’s work of bringing hope and support to the children battling cancer in the care of St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. Any donation will help make an impact. The kind folks over at St. Jude’s are leading the way in treating and defeating childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Your donation will also help those children’s families because St. Jude never sends the family a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food while they’re worried about saving their child’s life.

<div>About 1 in 285 children will develop cancer before the age of 20. The same year Black Panther came out, 17,293 children were diagnosed with cancer in the US — appr. 47 children per day.
