Wai John Wai Fundraiser

Dear friends, family, and community members,

I am writing to you today to let you know about the loss of Wai John Wai. As you may know, our beloved brother unexpectedly passed away on 4/18/20.

Wai had a heart of gold-- he touched lives with his big smile, laughter, and caring heart.  He was a friend, a community activist, a mentor to the youth, and a basketball coach. Like many of us surprised with his sudden demise, the younger children he mentored are especially struggling with his passing.

Wai, It feels like with each step you took, a lotus flower bloomed. You blazed a trail of glory, with your heartwarming smile, and we are honored to have been in your light of angelic being. You will be forever missed, Wai-dit(Wai The Great, in our native tongue, Dinka)!

Our hearts are shattered. We have cried a river of love. We Love You. We Love you.

Wai was a hard worker and the sole financial provider for his family back home in Africa. He generously supported his six younger nephews, paying all their school fees, as well his mother, including medical bills related to her ovarian cancer.  His passing has left a vacuum in our hearts and an unexpected financial hardship for the family.

We are raising funds to support his family for the funeral and other expenses for the next few months.

Please consider donating if you are able to do so. We are so very grateful for every donation during this difficult time.

Please forward this appeal to friends and family.

With love,

Simon Akoch John and Elizabeth Arjok
