Medical madness is an understatement for Wags 2 Wishes this week. It’s been a nightmare of nightmares and we have never seen so much in such a short week.
This week Wags took in 8 medical dogs, many unexpected medical.
Pierre - We found out Pierre has heartworm disease and started treatement. His fundraiser was amazing, thank you all for supporting!
Brody- Brody came from the same place as Pierre and unfortunately also has heartworm. He’s looking at an awful month of quiet treatment and treatment for $600. Brody is a loving white boxer who thinks everyone is his best friend. This poor guy doesn’t deserve this turn of events!
Angel- another rescue asked us last minute to take Angel. We are known for bulldogs so saying no wasn’t an option! Angel has an eye infection and needed a double entropian surgery to give her the relief she desperately needs. In addition to her eyes, she had a very large hernia from years of over breeding and poor c-sections.
Rick- This tiny min pin was riddened with kidney stones. This poor boy is in foster care and after a hard start to life we sure didn’t expect this awful news. Surgery, meds and diet food is what’s on the docket for this guy!
Amber- We got the call that a stray was found and something was wrong. We immediately said “bring her over” and we’re not expecting what we saw. Amber had a prolapsed rectum and needed emergency surgery. This poor girl has been neglected for quite some time and this was not the day for her :(.
Lily- this 10 week old chi was an emergency call from our amazing partners at Waukegan Animal control. She was rushed to the vet unable to move and completely incontinent. She’s had a rough week on some high medications and has some big days ahead of her. We are still praying for the best outcome for Lily.
Orville- A handsome hunk needed a simple cherry eye surgery to find his furever home. After being a stray in Chicago he was lucky to land safe with us and finally get the relief from his cherry eye surgery.
Luna- Neglect is one ugly thing. Luna was pulled from the Chicago shelter and had one of the worst pressure sores we’ve ever seen. We are watching to make sure it isn’t anything else and required an X-ray, bloodwork and cultures. This Love is too sweet and like all our dogs never deserved this!
Our dogs always receive all the care they need. This week has thrown us a tough curve bal but with your support we are ready to keep going! Please consider supporting our medical madness!
