Wade was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor (Grade 2 oligodendroglia) September 29, 2011. Chemotherapy that was supposed to retard growth of the tumor was started in 2013. After enduring 30 rounds of monthly chemotherapy, the chemo recently stopped working and the tumor has progressed to an aggressive Grade 3.
The only remaining option is radiation every day for six weeks in conjunction with daily chemotherapy, intended to stabilize the tumor. The radiation series will start in April but the outcome is very uncertain with potentially disabling side effects.
Wade’s job at a Dallas area bank was outsourced in 2015. Since then he has only been able to find work as a temp and will continue to do that as long as a possible. Unemployment benefits ran out long ago so there are now thousands and thousands of dollars still owed for the chemotherapy treatments. We are uncertain how much radiation treatments will cost but, as anyone who has ever faced a major medical crisis knows, the costs are expected to be catastrophic.
Wade is an amazing person with an enchanting personality but life has just not been fair. His medical condition and treatments have been both financially and emotionally devastating for Wade and his family. Your donations will help relieve financial stressors and ease his mind so he can focus on obtaining the best outcome from the treatments.
