Help Allison Beat Triple Negative Breast Cancer

Cancer has forced its way into yet another young and beautiful life; it just happens to be one of our best friends, biggest supporter and sister, Allison (Haas) Norman.  Most of our family and friends know Allison received her life altering diagnosis of stage 2 triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) on September 20.  During her journey she learned that she carries the BRCA 1 gene and this has been factored into her treatment plan.  



Allison has always been health conscious so when she found what she felt was a concerning lump, she wasted no time at all getting an appointment to address it.  How glad we are that she inherited the proactive and “head on” traits of our family ancestry!

Allison has always had that sweet smile we all know and feel instantly comforted by. She truly has a way with people.  She is a great listener, always finds a way to lift you up, and is so genuinely funny!  Her biggest passions are her two amazing kids: Brady (13) and Alyssa (9) and her rock and #1 fan of all time, her husband Matt (45 lol).  I think what we love about her most is she wears her heart on her sleeve and loves so deeply.

Allison has already fought her way through 12 rounds of chemotherapy at the University of Chicago, finishing her last treatment on December 30th. Thankfully, her side effects have been fairly minimal.  Her plan was for an MRI the first weekend of the year and then to embark on the second (more harsh) regimen of chemo as the warrior that she is.

We always feel prepared for life to throw a wrench into best laid plans and roll with the punches, and this time, life threw our dear Allison a great piece of hope! Her MRI came back clear and her physical exam the same. All the prayers came to fruition----God is so good!!! Her team was extremely encouraged that her tumor has responded as well as it has to her Treatment plan, that they’ve decided to move her surgery up to February 5th where  Allison will be undergoing a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction.  The breast tissue will be removed and sent to pathology for testing.  Should the results show there is still some cancer lurking in her tissues, she will undergo the second regimen of chemotherapy, as originally planned.  Further down the road, once they can assure all the breast cancer has been eliminated, she will have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed in a separate surgical procedure.

Asking for help can be hard, and with upfront costs, out of pocket expenses, missed work days, and treatment bills piling up, Allison and her family are finding themselves in an overwhelming spot. This page was created in hopes to help alleviate some of the
stress that financial burden can bring on a family as she continues to fight and they navigate this battle together.



The Normans are so grateful for all the continued support and endless love that they’ve already received from their friends, family and various communities. It’s been such a blanket of support, faith, and love.
