Helping Hayden

Hayden fell from the play structure at school and ended up with a fractured skull and a minor brain bleed. Things became more complicated with an infection that required strong antibiotics that are administered through an IV, requiring them to stay in the hospital even longer.
When I talked to Mike and Jalene about fundraising to cover their expenses, their main concern was covering their mortgage payment. But to be frank, their mortgage is just part of their expenses. Mike lost 10 out of his 14 shifts this month. Hayden was rushed by ambulance to Saskatoon (2.5 hours away from home) and had to stay in the hospital in Saskatoon for 6 days. Being out of town incurred expenses. On top of all of this, there are the regular monthly bills to cover without the paycheque to do so. Having Hayden in the hospital is stressful enough. If fundraising can cover their bills, it’ll lift a huge burden off of their shoulders.
