Dear Friends and Family,
My name is Tahnee Reed. I live in Saco ME but am originally from Andover CT. I am Jillian Bennett’s sister. I have continued this gofundme page on her behalf.
Thursday(March 15th) began as a peaceful afternoon for the Bennett family. No one could predict it would not end that way. Electrical damage (a result of recent storms) caused fire to break out in one of the upstairs bedrooms. What seemed at first to be heavy smoke damage to the upstairs has officially been deemed total loss of the entire house. This being reason for the increased monetary goal.
The Bennett family will face many hurdles on their road back to peace. Hurdles such as: Relocation and temporary housing (It has been learned that their house will not be livable for 1-2 years.)
Complete removal (down to the studs) and rebuilding of the physical home.
Replacement of household items. Items we often take for granted, but in moments like these quickly realize how necessary they are.
Furniture and appliances of every kind and for every room.
Clothing and personal items for Jill, Tyler, and their 2 young sons (ages 2 and 4).
The biggest hurdle of all will be maintaining a sense of peace and comfort for their boys. A situation like this is confusing and scary for a 2 and 4 year old. They don’t understand why their toys can’t “just be cleaned”. And remember “just a toy” to an adult is a child’s most prized possession...it’s their safety blanket....it’s their world.
With monetary donations and most importantly prayers, please help the Bennett family build their road to peace.
