As many people know firsthand, periods do not stop for pandemics. With the ongoing economic impact and school closures, access to period products has been significantly disrupted for many individuals.
To help, Changing The Flow has launched #PeriodPreparedWR, a free program providing period packs to students in WR.
In partnership with Nutrition for Learning, this new initiative will safely distribute period packs to 52 school locations across the region in conjunction with their Pop-Up Snacks program.
Each period pack contains 5 pads, 5 tampons, and an information card on how to safely use the products if it is their first time. Since launching in early June, #PeriodPreparedWR has already been met with enthusiasm and positive feedback.
We are now fundraising to be able to provide sufficient quantities to the population throughout the summer.
Each period pack costs $2.50 to produce, and all money raised will go directly to this project. We are really grateful for any support that you're able to give so that we can make sure that students across Waterloo Region can access the period products that they need to have a healthy period.
